Mr. Amer Hashmi is a global strategist, IT executive and entrepreneur, specializing in National Economic Development, Public Policy Framework, International Relations and Corporate Strategy. He began his career at IBM Global Services Canada where he was the National Principal of the Banking Sector and was in charge of some of IBM’s top clients including CIBC, Royal Bank of Canada and Bank of Montreal. He later went on to become the founding CEO of Si3 – one of Pakistan’s top technology outsourcing firms which was awarded several distinctions including Best IT startup, Best IT Brand in the Country, Best Revenue Growth in the Country and was featured in Forbes, Business Week, and in the UK’s Financial Times. Mr. Hashmi became the Advisor and Chief Strategy Officer of the National University of Sciences and Technology and Chairman of the National Science and Technology Park (NSTP) committee. He spearheaded the transformation of the university which included the establishment of the NSTP–first science and technology park of Pakistan. He secured some of the leading fortune 500 companies to open their research and development centers in NSTP including Oracle, IBM, Microsoft and large domestic companies. Some of his other organizational leadership roles include Senior IT Advisor to the Commonwealth Society of Canada, Senior Project Manager of MCI, Vice Chairman of Arfa Karim Foundation and Chairman of eOcean (Pvt.) Limited. Mr. Hashmi graduated from the prestigious Leadership Program on ‘Innovation for Economic Development’ at Harvard Kennedy School of Government. He also has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management from York University in Toronto, Canada.

Mr. Shaukat Tarin is the current Finance Minister of Pakistan. He previously served in the same position from 2009 to 2010 under Former Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani. With vast experience in the banking sector, Mr. Tarin has served as Country Manager of Citibank, Chairman of the Karachi Stock Exchange, and did tenures as Head of Habib Bank & Union Bank. He joined Citibank in 1975 and rose to become its Country Manager for Thailand. He later went on to represent Habib Bank as per the request of Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, and was hailed for successfully bringing nationalized commercial banks back from the verge of extinction. In 2000, he went on to serve as President of Union Bank, and also was a Board Member for Silkbank Limited. Mr. Tarin attended Forman Christian College and later received his MBA from the University of Punjab.

Makhdum Khusro Bakhtiar is a Pakistani politician and newly appointed Federal Minister for Industries & Production. Previously, he has served as the Federal Minister of Economic Affairs, Federal Minister of National Food Security & Research, and Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Reforms in the PTI government under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan. He has also been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from 2002-2008, 2013-2018 and 2018-till date. Mr. Bakhtiar graduated from the University of Punjab in 1990, and went on to receive an LLB (Hons.) degree in 1994 from the London School of Economics and Political Science in the United Kingdom. He also has a Bar-at-Law degree from Lincoln's Inn, United Kingdom.

Ms. Maheen Rahman is the Chief Executive Officer of Infra Zamin Pakistan, a first-of-its-kind for-profit credit enhancement facility in Pakistan. She previously served as the Chief Executive at Alfalah GHP Investment Management for seven years. With twenty years of experience in investment banking and asset management under her belt, she has established herself as one of the most successful investment bankers in the country She started her career with Merrill Lynch in their Investment Banking Group and was a key team member for several high-profile international transactions that spanned the Asia Pacific region and North America. Post Merrill Lynch, she joined ABN Amro Bank in Singapore in the Corporate Finance Department and was involved in a series of equity raising and IPO activity across south-east Asia. She has also served as Head of Research for BMA Capital Management where she spearheaded the research effort to provide sound and in-depth investment advice across all capital markets to a wide range of corporate and institutional clients. Under her stewardship BMA Capital's Research was represented on several international forums and widely recognized by local and international equity fund managers for its incisive analysis. Ms Rahman has also represented the industry via the mutual fund trade association, MUFAP. She has held the directorship for a number of terms and was Chairperson MUFAP over 2019/2020. MUFAP is the trade body for Pakistan’s trillion-rupee mutual fund industry and regularly represents stakeholder views to government and regulators. Numerous initiatives have been undertaken during her tenure as Chairperson including development of a CDC-led online portal for mutual fund investments, development of process flows for foreign investments into mutual funds via both Roshan Digital accounts and SCRA. There are 19 asset management companies as MUFAP members, offering a wide variety of investment options including stocks, bonds, money market instruments, government securities and bank deposits. Ms Rahman has been widely recognized locally and internationally. She was represented in Fortune’s 40 under 40 – Top 10 Women to Watch in 2015, by Bloomberg in 2015, BBC News in 2016. Ms. Rahman holds a Bachelor’s of Science (B.Sc. Hons) degree in Economics from the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) in 1997 and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Finance and Economics from Warwick Business School in the UK in 1999. She passed the Series 7 qualification from the NYSE in 2000.

Mr. Nazar Zaidi is Senior Vice President of Cores, Server SoC Systems IP Engineering, Technology and Engineering at AMD. Since joining AMD in 2016, he has successfully guided the delivery of AMD’s award-winning multi-generational “Zen” x86 CPU family. He is responsible for AMD’s CPU core strategy, all server CPU and IO System on a Chip (Soc) chiplet architecture and implementation, and CPU SW development tool chain including compilers, profilers, libraries, and global silicon debug tools. Throughout his nearly 30-year career, Zaidi has co-founded two companies – Raza Microelectronics and Nexsi Systems – and has held leadership roles at Broadcom, NetLogic and RMI overseeing development of industry leading multi-core products. At the time of his departure from Broadcom in 2015, he managed the development of Vulcan, the industry’s highest performance 32-core ARM64 SoC targeting information infrastructure and enterprise applications. Prior to these roles, he spent the first 9 years of his career at Intel. As co-founder of RMI, he delivered first generation of fully programmable, high performance multi-core processor and SDK for control plane and data plane applications such as networking, security, storage and wireless infrastructure. Built the chip design and SW team grounds up. Drove strategy and roadmap for multi-core products. Engaged with key customers for design wins, competitive bake-offs, and then support. His groundbreaking contributions to the industry have awarded him several accolades, he also holds 46 patents in high-performance processor design and has been published at various conferences. Nazar has served as an Advisor to several stealth mode startups, helping with articulation of value proposition, solution approach, fund-raising and exploring opportunities in the areas of big data, security and storage. Mr. Nazar Zaidi holds a PhD from the University of Texas at Austin in Electrical Engineering.

Mr. Ashar Nazim is the Group CEO of Aion Digital, a Bahrain-based company that has enabled a virtual banking market for over 34 million GCC nationals. He is also on the Board of Directors of Waqfe WLL, Spire Technologies Limited and Finocracy–all fintech companies in the GCC. . At international level, Ashar led the Global Center of Excellence for EY for alternative financial services (2009-2016). He also served on the board of an Islamic insurance company. Between 2002 to 2004, Ashar was Advisor to the Governor of Central Bank of Bahrain leading the taskforce to implement financial sector reforms. He was core team member of Bahrain country delegation on multiple international and bilateral forums. Ashar’s primary role at EY was to advise and work closely with the board of directors of leading financial institutions and regulatory authorities across Middle East on strategy design, reforms, stakeholder management and implementing large scale transformation programs. He also led the MENA Digital Financial Services for EY. Ashar is an entrepreneur by choice. His access to a credible set of institutions and senior decision makers in GCC, network of international technology players, and access to GCC-based Non-Resident Pakistanis has helped accelerate his fintech ventures across the region. Engaging and articulate, Ashar has led influential initiatives to assist in developing national infrastructure programs and technology programs over the past two decades. His market of operations include Middle East, Far East, CIS, North and East Africa and Europe. Ashar’s network includes international technology companies like Tencent Group (China), TransferWise (UK), Salt Edge (Canada) and Daon (Ireland). His regional network includes majors such as Roland Berger, PricewaterhouseCoopers, GCC central banks, Kuwait Finance House, Gulf Finance House, Boubyan Bank, Saudi Credit Bureau and Al Rajhi Holding amongst others. As a volunteer, Ashar is also actively engaged in a professionally run non-government organization – Diya Pakistan – that is working to provide employable education to the most deserving, financially distressed students in Pakistan. Mr. Ashar is qualified as a Certified Public Accountant at the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and has a HBSc from the Harrison School of Business in Southeast Missouri State University.

Mr. Sikandar Mustafa Khan is the Chairman of Millat Group of Companies. He also serves as a member on the Board of Engineering Development, LUMS and is the Vice Chairman of Board of Governors at NAMAL Institute. He has had a range of experience in the automotive & engineering industry since 1972. . Mr. Khan has varied experience in the Automotive & Engineering Industry and has been associated with it since 1972. He joined Naya Daur Motors Ltd., under the control of Pakistan Automobiles Corporation, Ministry of Production and was transferred to Millat Tractors Ltd. in 1977. He was appointed as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Millat Tractors Limited (MTL) in October 1985 in the Public sector, and was elected Chairman of the Board in 1991 after privatization. In pursuance of the Privatization Policy of the Government, he undertook the challenge of leading his team for the Employee’s Buy-out of MTL. He successfully arranged the financial package and structured a deal to complete the privatization of the Government’s shareholding of MTL and became the Chairman of Millat Group of Companies including the associated companies; Bolan Castings Limited, Millat Equipment Limited and Millat Industrial Products Limited as a subsidiary of Millat Tractors Limited. Mr. Khan was the Chairman of the Pakistan Chapter and Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, London, U.K. till June 2015. He was the Vice President of Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) for the period October 1997 to September 1998 and Chairman of Pakistan Business Council during the year 2013-14. He was the founding Chairman, Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) and the Chairman of Punjab Vocational Training Council (PVTC) appointed by the Government of Punjab in an honorary capacity (1998-2008); for ten years. He served on the board of Habib Bank Ltd. , Bank of Punjab and also on several boards in the Private and Public sectors from time to time. Mr. Khan received a Master’s in Production Engineering (DIC) from Imperial College, and has a Post Graduate Diploma from the University of New-Castle Upon Tyne and a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from NED University of Engineering & Technology.

Dr. Shafiq Qaadri is a Toronto-based family physician and a Continuing Medical Education (CME) lecturer. A true jack of all trades, he served as an MPP in the province of Ontario for 15 years and was the first Pakistani-Canadian to be elected to Parliament in the Province of Ontario, and served as MPP for 15 years, from 2003 to 2018. In Government, he was Parliamentary Secretary to the Chief Minister, Chairman of Justice Policy, and led the Ministry of Health Promotion for Ontario’s 13 million people. He has advised Government & Industry in many fields, including Cardiovascular Medicine, Diabetes, Lung diseases, Mood Disorders, Biotech, Biologic drugs, online Telemedicine, digital teaching—and most recently, Toronto’s COVID response. To date, Dr. Qaadri has presented 275 invitational lectures across the globe, from Montreal to Morocco, Miami to Mexico, from Austria to Australia. For media, he has presented more than 1000 TV or radio shows, and published 700 health and biotechnology articles; his books are available in Canada and the USA, with translated editions in France, Russia, and China. During his career, he won numerous awards and scholarships, including a Canadian National Debating Championship, an ES-U Prize to Oxford University, a Medical Research Council Scholarship in Clinical Neurosurgery, the MA Jinnah Prize from the Consulate General of Pakistan, a Fellowship in Global Journalism from Canada’s Munk School of Global Affairs, and a Senator Thompson Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. In 2012, he was honored by HM Queen Elizabeth II with the Diamond Jubilee Medal for Public Service. Always an ambassador for Pakistan, he is a proud Pakistani-Canadian. Dr. Qaadri graduated with a HBA in English Literature from the University of Toronto, a Master’s Certificate in Physician Leadership from Schulich School of Business at York University and an MD from University of Toronto Medical School

Mr. Noorur Rahman has more than 35 years’ experience in the Accounting & Auditing profession, across Europe, Middle East and Africa, of which the last 25 years have been in various leadership roles as Assurance Leader for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region and Audit Partner for clients ranging from investment companies, private equity houses, commercial banks, Islamic banks, government ministries, regulators, commercial entities and manufacturing industries. He was recently appointed as Board Director of the Kuwait Finance House As the Assurance Leader for EY MENA region from 1999 to 2012, Noor was responsible for managing 17 offices, 100 partners and over 5,000 employees. Mr. Noor has served as the Chairman of Auditing Standards Committee, and the Deputy Chairman of Accounting and Auditing Standards Board of AAOIFI (Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions). He is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of this Organization. Noor was declared the winner of the World Islamic Banking Conference 2012 Industry Leadership Award in recognition of his contribution to Islamic Banking. In his role as the leader of the MENA Assurance practice Noor embarked on a plan to refocus and strengthen EY’s market leadership position. With the goal of long-term sustainable growth, Noor’s strategy was centered on the firm’s historic strength and unique competitive advantages: its global franchise, unique emerging market footprint, investment in talent and encouraging diversity & entrepreneurship. He has made a significant contribution towards developing and launching Accounting Standards that are in line with Islamic Sharia principles by working as Chairman of the Accounting and Auditing Committee of AAOIFI. Since 2012 Noor has been a member of Board of Trustees of AAOIFI and has contributed in all aspects of its development and progress. In his role as Director in the second largest Islamic Bank in the world and the largest Islamic Bank in Pakistan he continues to contribute in corporate governance, internal controls and other strategic matters. He has also played an active role in strengthening Anti-Money Laundering processes and controls in all the financial institutions he is involved in. Syed Aminul Haque is a Pakistani politician and a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan, serving as the Federal Minister of Information Technology and Telecommunication. He is working on developing the Information and Communication technologies (ICTs) sector of Pakistan and improving bilateral relations with other nations around the world. In an effort to advance the Prime Minister’s vision of a more digital Pakistan, he has spearheaded a number of initiatives relating to virtual learning and digital skills training, involving the youth, innovators, industry leaders and other government entities of Pakistan. Before winning the general election in 2018, He served twice in the National Assembly as an MNA for which he was elected the first time in 1988 and once more in 1990, both representing the Karachi East III constituency. He is affiliated with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement Party and a member of its Rabita Committee. 

Dr. Sania Nishtar is an internationally recognized Pakistani physician and public health expert. She is the Federal Minister of Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety and the founder of Ehsaas, the Government’s leading welfare program. She also chairs the Benazir Income Support Program. As Pakistan’s first female cardiologist, she established the NGO think-tank Heartfile, which is now the most powerful voice for health reform in Pakistan and is recognized as a model in other developing countries. She is the founder of other health organizations as well including Pakistan’s Health Policy Forum and Heartfile Financing. She chairs a number of international groups including the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda, the U.S National Academy of Sciences Global Study on the Quality of Healthcare, United Nations International Institute for Global Health’s Advisory Committee and WHO’s Commission on Ending Childhood Obesity. She even founded the UN Secretary General’s Independent Accountability Panel for Women’s and Children’s health and currently chairs it. She was Pakistan’s nominee for the director-general of WHO in 2017 and managed to get shortlisted in the final three. She is a member of the United Nations Global Alliance on Poverty Eradication and the former co-chair of WHO’s High-Level Commission on Non-communicable diseases . She is the author of six books and more than 100 peer-reviewed articles and op-eds. Some of her accolades include Pakistan’s coveted Sitara e-Imtiaz, Rockefeller Foundation’s Global Innovation Award, European Society Population Science Award and the Medical Mission Hall of Fame in Toledo, Ohio. She was even named as one of the top 20 Women Scientists in the Muslim World and was featured on the list of BBC's 100 Women. Ms. Nishtar completed her MBBS degree from Khyber Medical College in Peshawar, graduating as the valedictorian of the Class of 1986 with 16 distinctions and a gold medal. She acquired her Ph.D in Medicine from King's College London in 2002 and was later granted a Doctorate in Science, Honoris, Causa in 2019. She has a number of prestigious memberships including ones at the Royal College of Physicians of London and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan.
